Su Zimeng, President of the China Construction Machinery Industry Association, recently stated at the 2024 Engineering Machinery Industry Technology Festival jointly organized by the China Construction Machinery Industry Association and Zhejiang University’s Institute of Advanced Equipment that the construction machinery industry is currently undergoing a rapid transformation toward high-end, intelligent, and green development.
Su Zimeng noted that despite various challenges, including the continuous decline in the real estate industry, the construction machinery sector has made significant progress in enhancing its core competitiveness through technological innovation. The industry has overcome multiple adverse factors and achieved high-quality development.
According to Su Zimeng, the industry has effectively improved the situation of low-end repetitive production and low-level competition. The output capacity of high-end construction machinery continues to strengthen, gradually forming a competitive development pattern in the mid-to-high-end segment. Digital technology has permeated various aspects of the construction machinery industry. Demonstrations of intelligent manufacturing and scenes from smart factories have expanded further with the support of advanced manufacturing technologies. Many enterprises have been recognized for their achievements in digital workshops, smart factories, and intelligent manufacturing. The industry has also made breakthroughs in green development, with electric construction machinery gaining a competitive advantage due to its adaptability, zero emissions, low noise, high reliability, ease of maintenance, and efficiency.
Su Zimeng emphasized that as automation accelerates and new-generation high-tech technologies empower the industry, the future development of construction machinery is full of vitality.
