On July 27, the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier Li Qiang of the State Council conducted a field investigation on the construction of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone. During the investigation, Premier Li Qiang visited Volvo Construction Equipment (China) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Volvo Group, and investigated the entire process of Volvo remanufacturing and inspected the latest product line of Volvo Construction Equipment.
Volvo Group’s global senior vice president, president of Volvo (China) Investment Co., Ltd. Ma Jun, president of Volvo Construction Equipment Investment (China) Co., Ltd. China Region Chen Lin and director of Volvo Construction Equipment Investment (China) Co., Ltd. Zhan Xu participated in the reception of the premier and his party.
The company’s leaders briefly introduced Volvo Group’s main business in China to the premier, emphasizing the positive impact that Volvo Construction Equipment’s relocation of its Asian headquarters to Shanghai in 2019 has brought to the group’s development, as well as how the company has used the system innovation of the free trade zone to achieve breakthrough development.
During his investigation in Shanghai, Premier Li Qiang said: “We must thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on the construction of free trade zones, vigorously implement the free trade zone promotion strategy, actively explore new explorations of high-level opening up to the outside world, and continuously make new breakthroughs and accumulate new experiences. Foreign enterprises and China’s development are mutually successful. We should tell a good story about foreign enterprises’ development in China and attract more foreign enterprises to cultivate the Chinese market.”
